Using Technology to improve student experience and support diverse needs.

Across all ages and abilities, technology allows students to deepen their engagement

with course content. From workshopping tricky problems on virtual whiteboards to

watching concise summary videos that consolidate new knowledge, students can revise

and review content in a way that suits them.

"A student that had joined Biology halfway through the year used Atomi’s resources to catch up on the unit they missed. This student ended up passing the Unit 1 and 2 exams with a mark of 78%" Educator from QLD Independent School.

With technology, adapting content and designing personalised learning experiences is

easier to do at scale.

“Atomi appears like a private tutor but is much more affordable, which could be done

independently and frequently. It is a silent tool to assist students who don’t want to

voice their concerns or difficulties. Furthermore, it could enable above-average students

to excel more efficiently.” Educator from a NSW Government School (10+ years’

experience).

Edtech platforms like Atomi can be used to assist students with:

  • Catching up on content
  • Digesting content in different formats e.g. video and mind maps
  • Reviewing and testing knowledge with quizzes and AI feedback
  • Viewing content in size / style they can read and digest in class and at home

It can be used to assist teachers:

  • Identify students’ weaknesses, strengths, pain points and knowledge gaps by providing tests quizzes and results in real-time
  • Pinpoint students who need extra support as well as those hungry for more, and suggested solutions
  • Encourage students to be proactive with self-directed learning
  • Build lesson plans and revision activities

The opportunities of AI in the classroom extend to reducing friction for non-English

speakers, with the ability to use AI as a translation assistant where students can

practice their conversation and writing skills.

Tips for using EdTech Solutions:

  1. Use differentiation tools to assign tailored learning tasks
  2. Use learning platforms to harness a flipped learning approach
  3. Use technology to facilitate collaborative learning in the classroom
  4. Make targeted teacher training a priority

The unethical use of AI is an emerging challenge for educators, with many concerned

about students using tools (like ChatGPT) to produce homework and assignments.

As new technologies (like AI) become more prevalent, it’s teachers who will be a crucial

force in preventing its unethical use, empowered by solutions that make it easy and

efficient to harness AI ethically in classwork, homework and assignments.

With best practice teaching practices baked into the platform, Atomi makes it easier for

teachers to use AI to enhance teaching and maximise online tools alongside established

teaching strategies.
